Essential oils have always interested me and I have dabbled in using them throughout the years. Becoming a Mom encouraged me to research and find even more ways to use EOs, in an effort to reduce chemicals in our home. From relaxation to immune support, each oil brings its unique benefits. Here, I share my top 10 essential oils and how I incorporate them into my home and life.
1. Lavender
Lavender is the quintessential essential oil for relaxation and stress relief. Its calming scent helps me unwind after a long day. I often add a few drops to my diffuser in the evening to create a calming environment for Little B or mix it with a carrier oil for a soothing massage. Lavender is powerhouse oil and a must have for any oily girls cabinet!
2. Chamomile
Chamomile is another go-to for relaxation; it is also excellent for soothing irritated skin. It has a sweet, apple-like aroma that is incredibly soothing. I like to blend it with lavender in lotions and in Little B’s bubble bath, to promote a sense of calm before bedtime.
3. Thieves
Thieves oil is a unique blend of clove, lemon, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils. Known for its immune-boosting properties, I use Thieves oil year-round, but especially during cold and flu season. I add it to my diffuser to purify the air and boost our immune systems and I make my own sanitizing spray with Thieves oil, distilled water and alcohol.
