10 Quick Self-Care Tips for Busy Moms

Being a mom is one of the most rewarding jobs, but it’s also one of the busiest! Between managing the household, working, and taking care of the kids, it’s easy to forget about taking care of yourself. However, self-care is crucial to maintaining your health and happiness. Here are ten quick and easy self-care tips that busy moms can incorporate into their daily routines.

1. Morning Stretch

Start your day with a quick 5-minute stretch. This can help wake up your body, improve circulation, and set a positive tone for the day ahead. Stretching can be done while you’re still in bed or as soon as you get up.

2. Hydrate

Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning. Hydration is essential for your body’s functions and can help boost your energy levels. Keep a water bottle with you throughout the day to remind yourself to drink regularly. I never stay hydrated enough but it is not for lack of trying, I found that a cute water bottle with a straw encourages me to drink more throughout the day!

3. 10-Minute Meditation

Find ten minutes in your day to meditate. This could be during your lunch break, after the kids go to bed, or even in the car before you head into work. Meditation can help reduce stress and improve mental clarity. I do a guided meditation at night when I am in bed, this helps ground me an aids with my insomnia!

4. Take a Walk

Even a short, brisk walk around the block can do wonders for your physical and mental health. If you can’t find time for a solo walk, take the kids along for a stroll or a trip to the park.

5. Read a Book

Spend 10-15 minutes reading a book or an article that interests you. It is a great way to escape from daily stress and engage your mind in something enjoyable.

6. Listen to Music

Create a playlist of your favorite songs and listen to it whenever you need a pick-me-up. Music has a powerful effect on mood and can be a great way to boost your spirits. I love to pop just one earbud in so that I can listen to my music but still hear Little B.

7. Pamper Yourself

Take a few minutes for a quick pampering session. This could be applying a face mask, painting your nails, or using a fragrant lotion. These small acts can help you feel refreshed and more put together and best of all they can be done after your little one is bed to add some peace and quiet to the pampering session.

8. Practice Deep Breathing

Take a few minutes to practice deep breathing exercises. This can help reduce stress and anxiety, and it’s something you can do anytime, anywhere. I learned some great deep breathing techniques during my guided meditations and they have come in handy during stressful parenting situations!

9. Write in a Journal

Spend a few minutes each day writing in a journal. This could be jotting down things you are grateful for, setting daily intentions, or simply expressing your thoughts and feelings.  I used to love to journal in college but got out of the habit somewhere in my 20s, I am actively trying to get back to it!

10. Unplug Before Bed

Try to spend the last 30 minutes before bed away from screens. Use this time to unwind and relax, which can help improve your sleep quality. Read a book, take a warm bath, or practice some light stretching.


Remember, self-care doesn’t have to be time-consuming. By incorporating these quick and easy tips into your daily routine, you can take better care of yourself while managing the demands of motherhood. You deserve it, Mama!
